Google has virtual monopoly in the Search Engine space and nowhere in future does it look possible for any one to break this. The Engine is so popular that a new parlance in english for search is to goog. However Developers Blekko have other ideas. They have developed a search engine specially for the Tablets based on Android and iPAD
Blekko have developed a new search engine called "IZIK" after Sir Isaac Newton. They claim to have optimised it just for tablets running on Android and iOS.
Here is a demo video
A search for Apple gave out vertical scroll search result of "Top Results," "Images," ''Recipes," ''News," ''Reviews," and "Tech." which in turn can be surfed horizontally as per users choice. And it was pretty fast too.
Blekko CEO and founder Rich Skrenta likens the experience to a hybrid service that is part search engine, part magazine and part discovery tool. Izik also shares some similarities to a tablet search app called Axis that longtime Google rival Yahoo released last May in an attempt to shake up the market. Like Izik, Axis also relies on visual thumbnails to list search results.
But to take on a Giant like Google IZIK will need something spectacular. However if you have a Tab (Android) or iPad please give it a try at their homepage.
Or Android users download the IZIK here at Google Play
iOS users download the IZIK here at Apple Store
