Samsung Galaxy S IV to be launched on March 14th

Korea's Samsung Electronics today confirmed that it was going to launch its much awaited Galaxy S IV on March 14th, 2013.  With the launch of HTC One last week, it was the question of when rather than how long Samsung will take to launch the S4.

The Korean Chaebol is still basking under the glory of success of the Galaxy S3 and fears of HTC One taking the Numero Uno place in the high end smart phones loomed large.  With Apples IPhone 5S nowhere in site, the future of the mobile market seemed certain with HTC One and Blackberry Z10.   However Samsung strategy master certainly knew that to be one up they had to come up with a launch and fast enough.

S III has been taking on iPhone 5 for last 12 months but in the ever changing smart phone market, change is inevitable and Samsung knew that.  Samsung is shipping invites for the March 14 launch starting today.

Leaked images, leaked specs and leaked information is all that is known of Samsung Galaxy S IV.  But no one is sure what the real phone will look like or what will it be loaded with  One thing the CNET was able to confirm that it is also considering embedding its new security software, Knox, into the Galaxy S4.

Among the rumors of specs the most popular is that S IV will have eight-core Exynos processor, a separate eight-core graphics processing unit, a 4.99-inch SuperAmoled display, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capability, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and the latest version of Android, known as 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
