Google own 'Find My Phone' service, Google Device Manager for Android devices surfaces in Bengalooru

Surprise, surprise!  Google's much touted "Find My Phone" service has surfaced out of all places in India!  Google had announced the launch of this service, a Apple clone, last week and it was felt that it would first be introduced in United States or European continent. Google has named the service as 'Device Manager for Android devices' and it will locate your phone when you lose it.

A user from Bengalooru having a handle of akshay7394 has announced the receipt of the update on a Reddit thread, check out the image below :

He has no clue about how the update appeared but has suggested that it may have appeared through Google Play Service updates. You can read the entire thread here.  Google had announced the Android Device Manager last week. There is a requirement for this was a much wanted service because of the fact that most high end Android phones are very costly affair and also that most users save their private data on the device which can be accessed by anybody in case of loss or theft.  Google's Device Manager will run on Android 2.2 and up and will let you remotely locate your device realtime via web interface through Google Maps.  If you want, you can raise the alarm remotely which will make the phone ring at max volume even if it is kept on silent mode.  In worst case scenarios, it allows you to remotely wipe your data (both phone and SD memory) but do remember wiping data means its erased even for you.
