It s 6 in the morning, I am brewing tea in the kitchen and could see sun rays peering in through the kitchen window, the sky was clear and birds were chirping as if even they were enjoying the pleasant atmosphere after two days of continuous rainfall.
A cool breeze just touched my face, I had an instant smile on my face and all of a sudden I remembered the quote: “Home is where Happy Memories grow." I poured tea in two cups and moved from my kitchen to the balcony attached to bedroom where my husband was enjoying the swing which we had attached in one corner. I felt as if my dreams have come true, I had been imagining this for almost 10 years now.
Yeah, it’s around six months that we moved in this new flat. My earlier flat was a small one located at a good location; however the space crunch was making my life miserable; in addition our guests were also not able to spend the night with us due to space issue. It was then that my husband and I jointly decided to sell the house and buy a new one. Housing is one of most difficult things in life and finding a new house which should be easy on our pockets and match our taste in a place like Mumbai is as good as finding water in a desert.
Our expedition began some 2 years back and after checking about a 100 houses for resale there was no luck. However, some eight months back I happened to see an advertisement which had some photos of a home and a person wanted to sell off at a rate that would fall within our budget
Luckily at the same time we got a customer for our flat as well, it was as if this house was my destiny.
Immediately we both went to see my dream home which was a spacious 2 Bedroom Hall Kitchen within Mumbai limits, located on 9th floor in a multi-storeyed building. The loan formalities happened smoothly thanks to my bankers. The area in front of our bedrooms faced society’s garden and hence it was an open space full of greenery. The flat had balconies in drawing room and bedrooms. For the house warming all our guests stayed at my home and it made me feel so happy. Now every month we arrange get together with our family and friends and now they can stay overnight. I genuinely feel as if a change of home has changed my life to King Size!!
I take a morning and evening stroll in the garden everyday which helps me stay healthy and full of vigor. I have made a lot of friends in my society as they are of same age group as me.
I really feel that people should chase their dreams and live a life as per their dreams as this gives a sense of fulfillment.
