Self Destruct Messages - a New Year Treat from FACEBOOK

Facebook is giving a New Year Gift for 2013 for its 1.01 Billion users by launching a SNAPCHAT like self destructing chat messenger. 

The messenger which has ability to self destruct after reaching user in a limited time interval is said to be in testing stage as reported by Mike Isaac of allthingsd.com.  Snapchat is hugely popular with youth for its ability to self destroy in 10 seconds and is often labeled as sexting messenger and Apple has already grade it as 12+  rating app. 

Facebook is developing a similar messenger for its chat app, including the capabity of deciding the amount of time the message or image remains visible.  This is a part of Facebook Management's strategy to monetize its core operations following its debacle on NYSE post its IPO listing.  The name of the self destruct Messenger is to be POKE

There are rumors milling around of takeover of Cross Platform Messenging Service Whatsapp by Facebook which were found to be unfound and instead Facebook was implementing major changes in its Android App. Facebook updated its Android app earlier in December to target a wider base by removing the necessity of being a Facebook member to use the messenging service.   Couple of weeks later Facebook acquired Instagram, a popular image editing and sharing app for iOS and Android for a  reported amount of USD 1 Billion.

Facebook predicts its future growth in countries like India and Indonesia.
