Google Hangouts App lets you make free international calls, but only for one minute
Google Hangouts has announced that your first min of call from the hangouts app will not be charged. Earlier reports had indicated that Google would shut down its voice service and integrate it into Hangouts. It has already merged Google Talk with Hangouts and this freebie seems to be another marketing push for the rarely used app.
Let's Hangout
Hangouts is Google's all in one messaging app. It lets you send instant messages, have group conversations, make phone and video calls. You need a Google account although to use any of these features. And you also need to have some calling credits in your account. This announcement removes that restriction, although just for a min because the period of your call beyond 1 minute will be charged the regular fare.
Availability
The 25 countries where the new Hangouts feature is accessible include Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and the U.S.
