Buying a new phone? Wait till June 2013, Sony is coming out with a new series of Smart Phones

Sony unveiled a new series of Smart Phones called the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL at CES 2013

In December I had given tips for readers confused about which phone to buy in the current market.    Now Sony has decided to add to that confusion or to relieve you of that confusion(which ever way you look at it).

SONY has unveiled its new series of Smart Phone called the Xperia Z and ZL.  Sony, which is trailing behind Samsung and HTC in Android phones category, has launched this 5 incher display phone, is hoping to gain a significant share of the smart phone market.  The Xperia Z phone which had created quite a flutter in blogger community is also known as Yuga or Sony 660X, regarding it specifications and what the bloggers where expecting from Sony.

Xperia Z phone sports 5" durable glass handsets that are a sleek, stylish, high-end addition to  the  high end smart phone category.  Other interesting specs of Z phone are as follows
  • 1.5 GHz asynchronous quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 2GB RAM
  • 1080 x 1920p full HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2
  • 13MP Fast Capture camera featuring Exmor RS for mobile, one of the first ever image sensor's with HDR video for any smartphone.
The above specs make it a real game changer in the smart phones available as of now.

Another interesting fact of the Z phone is that it is totally water resistant, you put in 3 feet water for 30 + minutes, remove it from the water and make a call as per Sony guys.  Its just amazing the way smart phones are evolving.

It will also have Near Field Communication(NFC) which lets you send messages, files or stream music and video by just tapping NFC enabled devices together.  You can just tap your phone to your Sony TV(if you have one) and watch your favorite video on your TV

All said and done, Sony will launch the phone by March 2013.  The pricing will be a big issue if Sony really wants to take the smart phone market by storm.  It is being said that the phone will be launched in a price range of high end smart phones.

Meanwhile Samsung is quietly going on with development of Samsung Galaxy S IV phone.  The S IV is the highly anticipated phone among the Samsung fans and was rumoured to be showcased at CES 2013, but sadly it was not.  The S IV is said to sport a S Pen. A picture of S IV was leaked according to SamMobileAlthough Samsung has officially not made any announcement, this device is said to be the new Samsung Galaxy S IV

The only game changer in S IV is said to be its so called Unbreakable Glass" or "Flexible Glass" which ever is true.  As of today the above pic may be a fake but Samsung is expected to make a official announcement of S IV by March 2013.

So if you are planning to buy your new smart phone, have patience and wait till June 2013, many better options may be available for you.  Till that time hold on to your current Nokia or which ever phone you have.
